Dear Colleagues:

The 2012 CBDNA/NBA Southern Division Conference will be held at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia February 23-25, 2012. Kennesaw State University is home to the Bailey Performance Center (2007), which includes a world-class 624 seat concert hall which will provide a wonderful space for our very important biennial musical gathering.

Our friends David Kehler and John Culvahouse will be our very talented and detail-oriented conference hosts. They have already done much work on our behalf, and I am very confident that they will do much in the coming months to ensure a memorable, collegial conference.

It will be my honor to serve as your CBDNA Southern Division President for the next two years. I am confident that our 2012 conference is in the very best of hands with our friends at KSU, and in consultation with NBA Southern Division President, Dr. Rick Good.

I look forward to presenting a conference for the Southern Divisions of CBDNA and NBA that is reflective of the needs and desires of our dual constituencies.

Richard Clary
CBDNA Southern Division President

The 2012 CBDNA/NBA Southern Division Conference is fast approaching, and I am confident this will be the best one yet! David Thomas Kehler and John Culvahouse will host us, with much enthusiasm, on the beautiful campus of Kennesaw State University. In addition, concerts will be held in the stunning Bailey Performance Center.

I'd like to thank the members of the NBA Performing Group Selection Committee who had a difficult task of selecting the guest bands from among a competitive field of fine music programs in the South. This year's conference will showcase excellence in instrumental music on many levels. On the NBA side, we will have representation from four states: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.

In addition, I would like to thank Rick Clary, the CBDNA Southern Division President, and our conference hosts, who have worked diligently throughout the course of the year to create what I believe will be the best Southern Division Conference to date.

Please make plans to join us. It will be a musically enriching experience.

Dr. Rick Good
NBA Southern Division Chair

On behalf of Kennesaw State University’s College of the Arts and School of Music, welcome Kennesaw, Georgia!   Kennesaw State is thrilled to be hosting this year’s 2012 CBDNA/NBA Southern Division Conference from February 23-25, 2012, and look forward to sharing our facilities with our memberships.

Kennesaw State is one of the fastest growing universities in the United States today, currently enrolling over 24,000 students.   Our School of Music performance facilities are new and are first-rate.   Located 22 miles north of downtown Atlanta, I am confident KSU will not only provide a convenient location for your travel, but also will provide an excellent performance and lecture venue for our gathering.

On behalf of my KSU colleague and NBA President, John Culvahouse, welcome to KSU!
